presentation-based lessons in key curriculum areas. These lesson
plans are designed to be used in conjunction with Greenwood

LESSON PLANS
Written by a variety of curricula and
teaching experts, each lesson plan consists of two pages,
one for the teacher and one
for the student.
Teacher pages
These contain background information, an outline of the task,
suggested pacing, list of materials, and links to required organizational
charts and assessment rubrics. They also contain suggestions
for extending the task beyond the lesson itself, for example
by providing possible topics for expository writing. Teacher
pages link directly to student pages, and vice versa, but no
“answers’ are provided anywhere on the site. Teachers
may print out and photocopy any of the pages for distribution
within the classroom.
Student pages
These contain contextual information for the relevant document,
an overview of the task, suggestions for further research, and
details of how to present the results. They also include a link
to the relevant graphic organizer to help students present their
results, such as charts, time-lines, Venn Diagrams, Compare
and Contrast charts, maps, flow diagrams and more.
